Some three years ago, a woman started out from her home in Tenby West Wales, and attempted to walk around the world. I was actually driving into Tenby on the day she began her quest, and I saw her trudging along the highway near Carmarthen. She was about twenty miles into her journey, and already looked tired and bedraggled. I thought at the time she'd never get past Swansea, but the last I heard she was doing well. Unfortunately, I have not heard any news about her for years. Does anyone know if she is still walking. Maybe she's finished her marathon. I don't even know her name. Any news would be gratefully received. Thanks, Harold Walters.

Hey Harold...

Her name is Rosie Swale Pope, and she began her round-the-world-from-Tenby jog at age 57 in October 2004. In early 2005 in Gdansk, she was eaten (sleeping bag and all) by the Grundelbrunk, a sort of "abominable snowman". No. I'm sorry, that's not true. She's doing great! And in October 2006 she was in Edmonton, Alberta, in Western Canada...

You can follow Rosie's progress here (and here are some other links about this lady's venture):
